G & J Seddon Apprenticeships ![]() Roy Cavanagh our Training Manager is responsible for the welfare of the Company’s apprentices. Roy himself has been with the company for over 40 years. Roy is the apprentice’s first point of contact with the Company, he interview each apprentice personally and deals with their training requirements throughout their apprenticeship period. Each apprentice’s welfare and development is closely monitored by Roy who visits each of them either on site or at college on a regular basis. This provides the apprentices with an opportunity to discuss any concerns they may have. This type of mentor approach has seen many of the Company’s apprentices achieve a very high pass rate to NVQ Level 3. The Company have strong links with local secondary schools which have been developed as a result of the successful implementation of the Company’s work experience programme. Each year the Company selects an apprentice that has excelled in his or her chosen trade to be presented with our Apprentice of the Year Award. A Typical Day in the Life of An Apprentice
